We have sold Liquid soap now for around 10 years … I like to think that it’s good, gentle soap, and that’s the feedback that I get from my customers …
This year has brought its own problems, regarding Liquid soap production – two things really –
- 1) It’s very difficult now to get hold of plastic bottles and lotion pumps to put in them, because they’re being snapped up for hand sanitizers …
- 2) the selection of lotion pumps available to me as someone who only buys 1000 of each size of bottle once a year is very small, and does not include high-functioning lotion pumps. With every set of lotion pumps I have been able to buy, there has been some operating problem or restriction.
I’ve been considering these problems for a while now, and have recently come to a rough decision:
Once my current stocks of plastic bottles and lotion pumps is exhausted, I’m going to switch to selling all liquid soap in foil/mylar pouches, and see how that goes …No more plastic bottles at all …
This means my customers may have to purchase their own soap dispensers. I know many of you already have these, but for those who don’t, a google search for ’empty soap dispenser’ will throw up some likely products. Often they can be bought in supermarkets too.
If there are any eco-warriers out there, please feel free to educate me about which pouches are best for recycling purposes, or if anyone knows good suppliers with good prices – I have a completely open mind …
Also, if you don’t think the change is a good idea, please feel free to let me know too 🙂
Will post again when the changeover is imminent …
